Role: Area Editor

Area Editors are currently unpaid. We hope to develop this into a paid role. 

We rely upon musicians, and other people working within the music industry, to contribute and to manage contributions to the Songstuff knowledge base.

We are looking for area editors for a number of specialist subjects:

  • Bass Guitar
  • Drums
  • Recording and Production

Role: Content Contributors

As well as contributions to our music library, we feature contributions in our site blogs, social media portals and our sister sites. In particular, we add video contributions to the Songstuff Channel on YouTube.

Role: Songstuff Music Library - Content Contributors Wanted

Are you a skilled music marketer, songwriter, musician, audio engineer, or music producer? Would you be interested in helping your fellow music heads to build their skills and understanding by contributing demonstration videos, articles and tutorials to the Songstuff music library?

We rely upon musicians, and other people working within the music industry, for contributions to our knowledge base.

Community

Our community attracts a broad variety of members and most have more than one role within the world of music. Like any community, we need some members to become moderators to help establish the tone of the community and to set an example to other members. From time to time they are also required to protect the site and the community from malicious individuals or groups, spammers and trouble makers.

Role: Community Moderator

Our music community is generally friendly and helpful. Our moderators are responsible for a number of things:

  • Accept direction from:
    • The Site Admin
    • Senior Moderators
  • Participate in monthly Moderator meetings
  • Help drive conversation by introducing interesting topics
  • Select posts to feature in “Staff Picks”
  • Pin posts
  • Create member challenges
  • Engage members
  • Encourage member engagement
  • Encourage member content creation
    • Music
    • Lyrics
    • Poems
    • Video
    • Art
  • Help steer topics to stay constructive and within community rules and guidelines
  • Apply community rules to posts and other behaviour as fairly as possible
  • Process “reports”
  • Take corrective actions including:
    • Hide posts while a Moderator investigation is ongoing
    • Delete offending posts
    • Edit posts and reconstruct topics
    • Explain to offending members why their content was moderated
    • Take arguing members aside to help them resolve differences “off-board”
    • Issue warnings
    • Handle spam & spammers
    • Suspend members
    • Ban members
    • Escalate unresolved issues to Senior Moderators

Role: Social Moderator

Our social media community is generally friendly and helpful. Our social moderators are generally Community Moderators and are responsible for a number of things:

  • Participate in monthly Moderator meeting (same meeting as the moderator meeting mentioned above)
  • Help drive conversation by introducing interesting topics on our social pages
  • Pin posts
  • Promote community initiatives
  • Engage others in relation to our accounts
  • Encourage engagement
  • Encourage original content sharing
    • Music
    • Lyrics
    • Poems
    • Video
    • Art
  • Help steer topics to stay constructive
  • Apply community rules to posts and other behaviour as fairly as possible
  • Take corrective actions including:
    • Hide posts while a Moderator investigation is ongoing
    • Delete offending posts
    • Explain to offending members why their content was moderated
    • Take arguing members aside to help them resolve differences
