State College, PA, March 28, 2008 – BMI affiliated Singer-Songwriter Will Diehl has announced the presale for his new studio release Love and Motion, a CD of original music. The CD contains a mix of rock, pop, jazz and alt-country. A reviewer of one of the songs said, “I thought this song was going in one direction when it started out, and then it … took a new direction ... Loved the sax. Vocals were cool too, it felt like a mix between Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen, and George Thorogood.” One of the unique aspects of the process and creation of this CD is that collaboration was via the internet. Will has never met some of the musicians on this CD – and most of the tracks were recorded in the respective musicians’ home studios and then sent back and forth to Diehl. Diehl recorded the initial vocal and guitar tracks at his home studio and sent the tracks to drummer and bass player James Robinson (http://www.internetmusicproduction.com/) in Los Angeles. After these tracks were recorded and rough mixes completed, they were sent to Ian Cameron (http://efiddler.com/) in Vancouver, Canada, who added violin and mandolin tracks. Morris Acevedo, guitarist and owner of the New England Guitar Workshop (www.negw.org) provided guitar, keyboards and organ from the Boston area and John Christensen (http://www.madisonbassplayer.com/John+Christensen/) of Madison, WI added bass. Back in Pennsylvania at Frigo Recording studios (www.frigorecording.com), Diehl met with saxophonist Rick Hirsch (http://hirschmusic.biz/) and mandolin player and guitarist Tom Buckmiller. Recording Engineer Marc Frigo, who has worked with artists such as the The Indigo Girls, Patty Loveless, Jewel, Israel, Erin O'Donnell, Nicole C. Mullen, The Borrowers, Letters to Cleo, and many others is currently working with Will on the final touches for the upcoming release.
With this presale, Diehl also continues his partnership with OXFAM America from last year. OXFAM America states that "Oxfam America believes music can change the world. We have a rich history of musical artists helping Oxfam's efforts to create lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and injustice, and we are pleased that Will Diehl has joined the ranks of talented musicians who have chosen to partner with us to spread the word about our campaigns both here in the United States and around the world." Diehl adds, “I encourage people to learn more about the life saving work that OXFAM America is doing, not only here in the United States, but all over the world, and to make an effort to become a partner in the work that is being done by contributing directly via their web site at http://www.oxfamamerica.org/.”
