Valley Center, CA - Pop newcomer, Daechelle, is the young, powerful voice her generation will listen to for years to come. The teen from Valley Center has created quite a "buzz" all over town with her performances on KUSI's Inside San Diego and her radio interview on Channel 93.3FM's AJs Playhouse last month. One of the songs she has recorded, "Fearless", placed 1st in the POP category in the 2006 Billboard World Songwriting Contest and also won the "People's Voice Award" in the 2006 International Songwriting Competition. In addition to her recent accomplishments, the local songstress just released her first CD.
Daechelle has been in the limelight since she began singing publicly at age 7. She started her career at the San Diego County Fair, winning the San Diego Superstar contest. She then competed and won Belmont Idol, USA World Showcase, and Little Miss Philippines Universe. Shortly after, requests for her vocal chops came in from San Diego, Los Angeles and even Boston, Massachusetts. She has performed at several community events including a Proclamation Banquet for former Mayor Dick Murphy, Petco Park, The San Diego Youth Encounter, local colleges, fundraising benefits and was also recognized as a "positive community role model" by San Diego's own 50th District Supervisor, Bill Horn.
It was her performance in Boston that caught the eye of her manager, Dennis Rodriguez, who soon signed her to her first major contract with WUK Music Group. Mr. Rodriguez has over 30 years of experience in the music industry and has worked with icons such as Michael Bolton and Pattie Labelle. He is currently working with Celine Dion's production "A New Day" and has decided to shape and mold Daechelle's professional singing career. He has teamed up with Producer/Songwriter Peter Roberts and several successful lyricists in putting Daechelle's first album together. The team goal is centered on positive music that will attract young and old.
Peter Roberts is a classically trained musician and award winning producer and songwriter who has recorded several highly acclaimed albums of his own material. While living in Europe, he was a well known session guitar player as well as a touring musician. Later on he established himself as an independent producer/songwriter working for numerous major and independent record labels. His clients include artists like George Benson, Al Jarreau, Kylie Minogue, Lou Bega, Jennifer Paige, La Toya Jackson and now, San Diego's very own, Daechelle.
