Cheryl Hodgkins

Cheryl started writing lyrics at age 12, had my first contract at 13, and started writing for bar bands at 14 and throughout high school. Took a break and started writing again while living in NYC, but had other priorities to focus on. She’s now back in Maine writing for a band whose goal is to have more of an online entity than localized. We’d rather have songs that other artists will cover.

Making lyrics feel natural, sit on music in such a way that you don't feel the effort of the author, so that they shine and bubble and rise and fall, is very, very hard to do. Whereas you can sit at the piano and just play and feel you're making art.”
Stephen Sondheim
